Roy Kitchen, 86, of Galveston, passed away Thursday, August 27, 2009, in Hitchcock, TX.
Visitation will be 5:00 until 7:00 pm, Monday, August 31st, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home. Graveside service will be 10:00 am, Tuesday, September 1st, at Galveston Memorial Park in Hitchcock with Rev. Michael Scalora officiating.
Roy was born March 17, 1923, in Houston, TX, but was a lifelong Galvestonian. He worked as a boilermaker at the plants in Texas City and was a survivor of the Texas City Disaster. He also served in the US Army during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and 2 brothers.
Roy is survived by his niece, Dodie Bares, and husband, Chris, and their daughter, Haley.
