Connie Dodge JohnsonConnie Dodge Johnson, 63, of Galveston, passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2009, at her Galveston home.

 

Her family will receive visitors after 5:00 pm, Friday, September 18th, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home.

 

Funeral service will be 10:00 am, Saturday, September 19th, at Moody Memorial Methodist Church with Rev. Charles Bagley and Rev. Bert Bagley officiating.

 

Connie was born September 23, 1945, in Hampton, Virginia.  She received her Bachelor’s Degree from Georgia State University, and although she worked at several times in her life, her real life’s work was being a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker.  She loved walking along the beach, oil painting, growing flowers in her yard, cooking, traveling, but most of all, spending time with her family.  She was an active member of Moody Methodist Church, serving on various committees and helping with a number of church activities.

 

Connie was preceded in death by her mother, June Dodge.  She is survived by her father, James Dodge; husband, Jerry Johnson; daughter, Annamary Johnson Given and husband, Jonathon; sons, Jeremy Johnson and John Payne; brothers, James Dodge Jr. and wife, Carol Dodge; and Robert Dodge and wife, Denny; granddaughter, Abigail Payne; brother-in-law,  Jan Johnson;

nieces and nephews: Philip Dodge, Sarah Dodge, Stewart Dodge, James Dodge Sr., and Jamie Branson.

 

Honorary Pallbearers will be Maggie Benham, Gayle Culbertson, Nancy Hirschberg, Barbara Norris, Linda Smith, and Donna Wilkey.
