Pearland City Council on Monday voted unanimously to adopt a five-year capital improvement program for 2010-2014.

The item had been tabled at a previous meeting.

The city council postponed action on approval of a special events permit.

The city council took no action regarding potential litigation associated with Brazoria County Municipal Utility Districts No. 2 and 3. The item was discussed in executive session.

The city council took no action regarding appointments to the city's various boards and commissions. The item was discussed during an executive session.

The city council took no action regarding the director of the Economic Development Corporation. The item was discussed in executive session.

The city council voted unanimously to approve several appointments to boards and commissions under the consent agenda.

The city council reappointed Shari Coleman to the Animal Shelter Advisory Committee for a three-year term to expire in November of 2012.

The city council reappointed Susan C. Dieterich to the Building/Fire Code Board of Adjustments for a five-year term to expire in November of 2014.

The city council reappointed Bryan K. Roller to the Channel Review Board for a three-year term to expire in November of 2012.

The city council reappointed Tom Pool and Brandon K. Dansby to the Development Authority of Pearland for two-year terms to expire in November of 2011.

The city council reappointed Charlie F. Michna to the Electrical Board for a two-year term to expire in November of 2011.

The city council reappointed Bettye M. Alexander and Dr. Fred R. Cessac to the Library Board for three-year terms to expire in November of 2012.

The city council reappointed Marjorie Wilcoxson to the Parks, Recreation and Beautification Board for a three-year term to expire in November of 2012.

The city council reappointed Susan Sherrouse and Henry N. Fuertes to the Planning and Zoning Commission for three-year terms to expire in November of 2012.

The city council reappointed Jo Knight to the Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone No. 2 board for a two-year term to expire in November 2011.

The city council reappointed Jerry Acosta and Marvin Elam as alternate members of the Zoning Board of Adjustments. The city council also reappointed David A.K. Smith and William D. Torok as members of the Zoning Board of Adjustments. All four members will serve two-year terms.

All other items were approved by unanimous vote. All members were present. Agenda
