Brazoria County Commissioners Court today voted unanimously to approve a resolution authorizing the incorporation of the Gulf Coast Community Protection and Recovery District, Inc. and approval of the bylaws.

Several coastal counties are joining the corporation, which will work on projects to mitigate the effects of storm surge impact on the coast by hurricanes.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to reappoint Larry Lawson to the Reinvestment Zone Board of Directors with the City of Pearland.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to appoint Commissioner Stacy Adams, Commissioner Mary Ruth Rhodenbaugh, County Librarian Catherine Threadgill, Pearland City Council Member Scott Sherman and Pearland City Manager Bill Eisen to the Library Committee.

The commissioners court voted 4-0-1, with Matt Sebesta abstaining, to approve a beachfront construction permit for 4715 Bluewater Drive.

The commissioners court voted 4-0-1, with Dude Payne abstaining, to approve projects under blanket interlocal agreements for direct assistance to cities and towns.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to approve the purchase of a 0.0413 acre tract of land to use as right-of-way for improvements to Big Island Drive.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to approve a 0.1508 acre tract of land to use as right-of-way for improvements to Big Island Drive.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to approve a request by the City of Angleton for use of the county courthouse grounds for the Annual Heart of Christmas Celebration.

All other items were approved by unanimous vote. All members were present. Agenda
