Lottie Castile, 100, long-time Galveston resident passed away October, 11th in Houston, TX.
Mrs. Castile was born in Bay City, TX, but moved to Galveston in 1929 and became a member of West Point Baptist Church and sang in the choir for over 60 years.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband George Castile and all of her sisters and brothers: George Cratic, Ella Cratic Morgan, Paralee Cratic Porter, Jesse Mims, Isreal Mims, Mary Mims Watson and a nephew, Fletcher Morgan, Sr.
She is survived by a daughter, Wreatha Castile of Houston; nieces, Mamie Franklin of Galveston, Juanita Williams, Vera Gray, Ramona Brown, Ora Lee Woodfolk, Gale Jackson, and Wanda Robinson all of Houston, Gloria Moore and Constance Robinson of Bay City, TX; nephews, Jack Morgan of Houston and Xavier Mims of Virginia Beach, VA.
There will be a visitation on Friday, October 16th from 6pm to 8pm at E.R. Johnson Family Mortuary.
Her life will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 17, 2009, at the West Point Baptist Church with Pastor Kerry W. Tillmon officiating. She will be laid to rest in Rising Star Cemetery in La Marque.
