Willie Allen, Jr.
E. R. Johnson Family Mortuary

Willie Allen, Jr.Willie Allen, Jr., 82, departed this life on Sunday, October 11, 2009, at Mainland Medical Center.

Willie was born July 24, 1927, in Zachary, LA to Rev. Willie Sr. and Bertha Robinson Allen. A longtime resident of Galveston, he was an retired welder from Todd Shipyard and Kelso, owner of Allen's Photography, an avid fisherman,  a U. S. Navy World War II veteran, and a member of  the Live Oak Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Donald Allen and Gregory Cummins, and stepmother, Rebecca Allen.

He is survived by his wife, Alberta F. Pamphlin-Allen; grandchildren, Ladonna, Derrick (Carlita), Carla and Donald (Sindetrice) Allen, Jr., Jeremy, Greg, Phillip, RaiCherylon and RaiCerria Cummins; brother, Henry Allen (Irma); sisters, Theresa Thomas (Emmett), Eula A Johnson(Willie); stepsisters, Earnestine Williams and Diane Lockett; uncle, Joe L. Williams; aunts, Julia Haynes, Matilda Jiles, Viola Bumfield and Luciney Green; stepdaughter, Jeanette Thomas (Stephen); daughters in law, Joyce Allen Walton and Jessie Cummins; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Visitation will begin at 5 PM on today, October 15th followed by a wake from 7-8 PM at E R Johnson Family Mortuary. A service celebrating his life will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 16th, at the Live Oak Baptist Church with Pastor Vernon L. Baines officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
