Local group of Iraq & Afghanistan veterans hosts
2009 Veterans Day celebration on Wednesday November 11th

WHO:            The Lone Star Veterans Association will hold a Veterans Day Celebration immediately following the City of Houston Veterans Day Parade on Wednesday November 11, 2009 from 1:30 PM to 5:00 PM.

This will mark the first time that veterans of Operations Enduring and Iraqi Freedom have officially participated in the ceremony and we are proud to walk alongside our brothers and sisters in arms representing the preceding generations of military veterans.

WHAT:           Festivities include a free dinner for veterans and family members, drinks, live DJ, raffles, games for kids, bake sale and guest speakers featuring military and veterans affairs.

WHEN:          Wednesday November 11, 2009 immediately following the Veterans Day Parade in Downtown Houston from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM

WHERE:         American Legion Post 416 located at 1216 West Clay St. Houston, TX 77019

WHY:             This event serves to introduce Post 9/11 veterans, in and around the city of Houston, to the Lone Star Veterans Association and to celebrate the sacrifices and efforts of all our nation’s military veterans! It is also a means of social networking for veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and their families.
