Mary A. Callier Brown, 90, departed this life on Sunday, October 18, 2009, in Detroit, Michigan.
Mary Ann was born on August 16, 1919, in Coldspring, Texas to George and Polly Callier. A longtime resident of Galveston before moving to Detroit, she was a member of Sunlight Baptist Church, where she served as vice president of Mission #1, and in the Senior Choir and Women’s Sunday School Bible class.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Eartha Brown; brothers, A. D. and Ervin F. Callier; sisters, Juanita Callier Torrence and Willie Lee Callier Brown.
She leaves to cherish memories, a daughter, Vernia George Green; son, Ervin Green; grandchildren, Kedrick (Lisa) and Nini Green; great grandchildren, Malih and Lalya Green; daughter in law, Gwendolyn Green; sisters, Bernice Callier Gibson and Morteal Callier Lee; special love ones and friends, nieces, nephews, cousins and JoAnna Shankle.
Visitation will begin at 11:00AM on Saturday, October 24, 2009, followed by a service celebrating her life at 12 Noon at the Sunlight Baptist Church with Pastor A. C. Tryon, officiating. She will be laid to rest in Lakeview Cemetery.
