Cora Ann Brown "CoRanne"Cora Ann Brown, 64, was called home to eternal rest on Wednesday, October 21, 2009, at UTMB Hopstial.

She was born in Baldwin, LA, but was a lifelong resident of Galveston, TX. She completed nursing school in 1967 and began her career with UTMB retiring after 41 years of service.

She is preceded in death by her parents Cleveland and Eula Brown and siblings Cleveland Brown Jr., Myrtle Jones, Ruben Brown, and Chris Brown.

She is survived by her husband of 34 years Alston B. Brown; daughters Sonia Taylor, Juliet Freeman, and Andrea Darby (David); son Richard Brown (Carmen); grandchildren Marshal and Morgan Taylor, Caleb Vignes, Reginald Freeman, Keishan, Kandace, Kayla Darby, Richard Jr. and Antonio Brown; sisters Ann Guine (Leonard), Linda August (Howard), Brenda Robertson, and Jessie Brown; brothers Clarence Brown, Gerald Brown, and Raymond Brown (Lee); sisters-in-law Marilyn Brown and Charlotte Brown, a host of nieces, nephews, godchildren, cousins, extended family and friends.

Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, October 26, 2009, with a  rosary at 10:30 a.m. followed by funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Father E. J. Stein OFM  celebrant.  Internment will follow at Grace Memorial Cemetery, Hitchcock, TX.
