Ora Hall
E. R. Johnson Family Mortuary

Ora HallOra Hall passed away from this life on Friday, October 23, 2009, at Gulf Health Care Center in Galveston.

Ora was born March 18, 1922, in Charenton, LA and was raised in New Orleans, before moving to Galveston. She was employed with UTMB Department of Labor and Delivery for 38 years before retiring.

She was preceded in death by her father, Earnest Rosenett; mother, Carrie Jacquo Verrett; sister Lelia Shepherd; brothers, Sidney Verrett and Edward Provost.

She is survived by her sons, Ricky C. Sykes (Marie) of Los Angeles, CA and Al C. Valrey of Galveston; daughters, Flavor R. Valrey of Houston and Wanda Hall of Galveston; 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren; devoted sister in law, Albertha Roberts; host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will begin at 4PM on Friday, October 30th, followed by a wake from 7-8 PM at E R Johnson Family Mortuary. A service celebrating her life will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 31, 2009, at the Wesley Tabernacle United Methodist Church with Rev. Henry Hynson officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
