Veterans Day 2009
Galveston Island Convention & Visitors Bureau

The Galveston Island Convention & Visitors Bureau, along with the Hawthorn Suites @ the Victorian Condo Hotel & Conference Center will honor active duty and prior military Veterans with a chipped beef BBQ sandwich lunch for free on 11/11/09 starting at 10:45 am.  $5.00 donation will be collected for non Veterans.  Seating is limited to the first 200 so call ahead for reserved seating. All prior Veterans must have proof of service for the free lunch.  

Reservations may be made by calling 409-797-5150 Sheri Teller, GICVB, Military Sales Mgr.  The presentations will be pre/post hurricane Ike, Getting past the damage to the islands military museums.

 

After the lunch and presentations the service will move to Seawolf Park, where Veteran and Active Duty military men and woman will speak to the crowd.  Ball High School will assist in the posting of this Nations Colors and provide entertainment with their excellent skills in the drill arena.  The USCG Air Station Houston will provide a Search & Rescue Demonstration at 2:30 pm.
