Mary “Minnie” Elizabeth Henry Joiner

Mary “Minnie” Elizabeth Henry JoinerMary “Minnie” Elizabeth Henry Joiner was born on November 11, 1936, in Galveston, TX. to Harrietta and Johnnie Dickey. She attended school in Galveston,TX.  On May 9, 1958, she married Charles Joiner, Sr.  Through Mary, 10 children were born unto this world and two grandsons she raised from birth.  She devoted her life to her family and community of friends.  At an early age Mary became a member of Spiritual Truth Church and throughout the years she developed a strong personal relationship with the Lord.

Mary always knew Jesus would return; and she was ready when her guardian angel appeared with her crown of glory on November 9, 2009 at the UTMB as she was surrounded by her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Charles Joiner Sr.; one child, Robert Joiner; 4 brothers and 3 sisters. 

She leaves to cherish memories, her sister Pearlie Goins of Texas City, her sister-in-law, M. Dell Joiner of Abbeville, LA.; sons, Emile P. Henry Sr. (Sherry) of Pearland, TX., Gregory Joiner Sr. of Clear Lake, Michael Henry (Ann), Charles Joiner Jr., Roshawn Joiner and Terrance Joiner all of Galveston;  daughters, Rose Henry, Stephanie Joiner and Sandra Joiner all of Galveston, TX, Harrietta Moss and Barbara Williams (Curtis) both of Houston, TX.; 26 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 14, 2009, followed by a service celebrating her life at 1:00 p.m. Avenue L Baptist Church (2612 Ave L) Rev E. R. Johnson Pastor, Rev. Howard Bell officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Galveston , TX .
