Lula Marie Madria was called to her heavenly home to be with the Lord on November 9, 2009 at her residence in Galveston.

"Pookie" as she was fondly known, was born on February 2, 1956, to Ester Mae and Ernest Jones. She graduated from Ball High School and was employed at UTMB with over 31 years of service. She was a very dedicated an devoted caregiver, loving and very giving person. A faithful member of Compton Memorial C.O.G.I.C. and attended various churches in Galveston.

Preceding her in death was her father, husband, grandmothers and grand fathers, and aunts.

Left to cherish memories is her devoted and loving mother, Ester Mae Jones; sister, Barbara Jones Jackson; aunt, Claudine Jones; nephew, Tony Jones, Sr.(Erica); great niece and nephew, Aubrey and Tony,  Jones, Jr.; stepdaughter, LaTonia August; step granddaughters, La Shey and LaNeshia Gardner; step great granddaughter, Rehianna Harrison; special devoted friend, Earlene Miller; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

Visitation will begin at 12 noon on Saturday, November 14, 2009, followed by a service celebrating her life at 2:00 PM at the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church(28th & Ave. K) with Pastor Dexter Henderson officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
