The Hitchcock Independent School District Board of Trustees on Tuesday voted unanimously to cast the district's votes for the Galveston Central Appraisal District Board of Directors election in favor of Calvin McNeal.
The district cast 75 votes in favor of McNeal, which are all the votes the district carries in the election. Each taxing entity is given a number of votes equal to the percentage of the overall county tax levy it draws. A total of 834 votes is needed to elect a member to the board.
The school board voted unanimously to nominate Estelle Holmes as representative and Dianne James as alternate for the Houston-Galveston Area Council 2010 General Assembly.
