Luella Alexander Robbins, 85, finished her earthly journey, and went home to be with the Lord, on Wednesday, November 25, 2009, at Gulf Health Care in Galveston. Luella was born in Garwood, TX to the late Bruce and Annie Bell Williams Alexander. Luella attended school in Garwood. She met and married Marvin Clarence Farrow, and to this union her son, Johnnie was born. She later married Edell Robbins. Luella was a dedicated worker for Edward and Rosemarie Walsh for forty years and was a faithful member of Live Oak Baptist Church for over fifty years until her health failed.
Luella was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Marvin Farrow, Edell Robbins; sisters, Earline "Sister" Johnson, Gertrude Simms, Josie "August" Ford, Gracie Mae Edwards, Ella Ray Alexander.
She leaves to cherish memories of her life, son, Johnnie Farrow; grandchildren, Lynn Jones, Derrick, Donald, and Donna Farrow, Rhonda, Don, and Dewayne Albert; great grandchildren, Rachella, Christy, Brent; siblings, Eula Scott Wilson, Jola Aubrey (Wesley), Mary Cunningham (Bob), Edward Alexander, Sylvia Smoots (Bernard), Ruth Crawford (Harry); very devoted friends, Cecile West, Jean Lewis, Jessie Ward, Rose Amos and a host of other family and friends. The family would like to thank the staff at Gulf Health Care and the Hospice Staff.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, December 1, 2009, followed by a life celebration service at 11:00 am at Live Oak Baptist Church with Pastor V.L. Baines officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Galveston.
