Ann Jerome Deaton
Malloy & Son Funeral Home

Ann Jerome DeatonAnn Jerome Deaton, 75, of Galveston, passed away Thursday, December 3, 2009, at Triumph Hospital of Clear Lake.

Funeral Mass will be 10:00 am, Monday, December 9th, at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Father John Bok, OFM, as Celebrant.  Burial will follow the service at Grace Memorial Park in Hitchcock.

The family will receive visitors after 5:00 pm, Sunday, December 8th, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home.  A rosary will be held at 6:00 pm, led by Deacon Henry Herrera.

Ann was born March 14, 1934, in Galveston, Texas.  She was a graduate of Ursuline Academy and worked for 20 years as a clerk for the UTMB Blood Bank.  Ann was very active in the Catholic Community, particularly at St. Patrick’s, and spent countless hours volunteering her time for her church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Mamie Devine; husband, Carroll Deaton, Jr.; and son, Michael John Anderson.

She is survived by her daughters, Carol Ann Micheletti and husband, Torello, and Mary Kay Griggs and husband, Donald; sons, Patrick Timothy Deaton and wife, Sonja, and Mark Allen Deaton and wife, Debbie; seven grandchildren; and one great grandchild; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Donald Griggs, Jr., Matthew Deaton, Tyler Deaton, Nicholas Deaton, Scott Deaton, and Jonathan Deaton.  Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Anderson, Jr. and Mike McCune.

Ann’s family wishes to extend very special thanks to Ann’s niece, Carey, for taking care of Ann while she was ill.
