GOLF TOURNAMENT TO BENEFIT GALVESTON COUNTY CHILDREN
Galveston – Golfers can enjoy the sport while helping make the holiday season bright for children in Galveston County. In the spirit of tradition, Moody Gardens Golf Course will hold a holiday golf tournament combined with a toy drive, the Merry Kids’smas Scramble, Sunday, Dec. 20.
“This is an event that the Galveston Municipal Golf Course used to hold each year, and we are bringing it back to life,” said Bill Pushak, general manager, Moody Gardens Golf Course.
In this four-person scramble, female golfers will play from red tees and male counterparts will play from green tees. All players are requested to bring a new toy to benefit the Resource and Crisis Center of Galveston County.
Those interested in donating a toy for the Resource and Crisis Center of Galveston County but not playing in the tournament are encouraged to bring a new toy to the Pro Shop now through Dec. 20. Moody Gardens Golf Course will give golfers a free bucket of range balls for toys donated before the tournament.
The registration fee is $65 plus a toy and includes green and cart fee, range lunch and prizes. The last day to sign up is Monday, Dec. 14 and interested players should contact 409-683-4653 or moodygardensgolf.com.
