The Hitchcock Independent School District Board of Trustees on Tuesday voted 5-2, with Dianne James and Monica Cantrell opposed, to approve realignment of Stewart Elementary School and Hitchcock Primary faculty and staff by moving Pre-Kindergarten through Fourth Grade to Hitchcock Primary School for the remainder of the school year.
The school board voted 6-0-1, with Pat Turner abstaining, to accept a donation of playground equipment for students of Hitchcock Primary School from the Stewart Elementary Parent-Teacher Organization.
The school board voted unanimously to not schedule special called meetings on Tuesdays with regards to changes in the monthly meeting dates for the board.
The school board took no action on duties and employment of professional and paraprofessional personnel. The items were discussed during an executive session.
The school board voted unanimously to schedule January 28 as the date for Kids First Head Start Training.
During the meeting, presented the Above and Beyond Citizen Award for December 2009 to Denise Charlston.
