David Barrett Patterson, 71, died in Nassau Bay on Tuesday, December 15, 2009. He was born in Galveston on March, 25, 1938, to Edward and Mary Patterson. A proud BOI, David attended Ball High School and then joined the Navy. After serving in the navy, he worked for Sea Arama as well as a courier for a blue printing company. After his retirement, David was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Mary Patterson, as well as his sister, Mary Wren. He is survived by his wife, Betty Patterson; daughters, Wren Hargrove and Robin Counce and husband, Vance; grandchildren, Carissa Hargrove, Caissie Hargrove, Zachary Hargrove, Monique Counce, Benjamin Counce, and Mariah Counce; great granddaughters, Trinity Cisneros, Trineye Bailey, and Taiya Bailey; and numerous other relatives and friends. Although David did not have a brother, he had a lifelong friend, Charles Smith, whom he considered a brother.
At his request, David was cremated under the direction of Malloy & Son Funeral Home.
