The Brazoria County Appraisal District has announced the winners in the 2010-2011 Board of Directors election, with one new member elected to the board.
Rubye Jo Knight, currently the board's chair, received 1,016 votes to secure her seat on the board for another term. Votes are cast by the county's taxing entities, with the amount of votes for each entity based on the percentage of the overall tax levy they draw.
Patricia Taylor received 865 votes for re-election. Taylor currently serves as vice chair on the board. William Hasse received 838 votes for re-election to his position on the board, and Glenn Salyer received 710 votes, and will also remain on the board for another two-year term.
Jesse Hibbetts received 815 votes and is a newly-elected member on the board. Hibbetts will replace Henry Munson, the board secretary, who did not receive enough votes for re-election.
Brazoria County Tax Assessor-Collector Ro'Vin Garrett also serves on the board, but as a nonvoting member.
