Roy Frenchwood Sr., was born on October 28, 1943, to Victoria and Oliver Frenchwood in Galveston, Tx. A lifelong resident of Galveston, he was employed with J. Levy Brothers, UTMB, GISD, Wright Cuney, and the Yellow Cab. Roy went home to be with the Lord on December 24, 2009, in Texas City, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Roy Frenchwood Jr.; sister, Bernice Frenchwood; brothers, Darryl, Earl, Tommie, Kenneth, Don and M.T. (Bryant) Frenchwood.
Roy leaves to cherish memories, his sons, Larry and Adrian Frenchwood of Houston, TX; mother of his children, Gloria Frenchwood of Houston, TX; four grandchildren; niece he raised as a daughter, Sheila McNeal of Galveston, TX; sisters, Gertrude (James), Joan Marie, and Helen (Alfred) all of Houston, TX, Rita of Galveston, and Beverly (Neville) of Texas City, TX; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will begin at 9 AM held on Saturday, January 2, 2010, followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Fields-Johnson Family Mortuary with Rev. Louis Simpson, Jr. officiating .
