Olivia PerezOlivia Perez went to be with her heavenly father on Thursday, December 31, 2009 at the age of 83. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home in Galveston with the Reverend Tim Gomzales officiating. Burial will follow at Galveston Memorial Park in Hitchcock. Olivia was born in Houston, Texas on September 15, 1925 to Rev. Nestor O. Perez and Paula R. Perez.  While living in Galveston she worked at Uneeda Laundry, DeLeon Jewelers and Wal-Mart until she retired. Throughout her life she was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt and a servant of the Lord. She was a member of the First Latin Assembly of God located at 19th and Postoffice where she and her sister Josephine were Sunday School teachers, secretaries and whatever else they could help out with. Even when she moved to Kountze, Tx. in 2003 she never, ever forgot the little church her father started. She enjoyed sharing her love of God with all she encountered. She laughed easily and had a wonderful sense of humor. She had a special way of comforting people in their time of need. She was the last surviving sibling of her generation. Now the family is complete again at the Lord’s table. Aunt Ollie will be greatly missed by all.

Preceeded in death by her parents Rev. Nestor O. Perez and Paula R. Perez; sisters Aurora P. Pacheco, Mary P. Jimenez, Josephine Perez; brothers Eliseo B. Perez, Daniel Perez, Edward O. Perez, Sr. and Nestor O. Perez, Jr. she is survived by numerous nieces and nephews

Pallbearers are Alfred N. Perez, Edward O. Perez JR, James Perez, Michael O'Conner David Jimenez and Julie Perez. Honorary Pallbearers: Andrew S. Perez Sr., Andrew S. Perez Jr., Edward C. Jimenez, Juan Jimenez, Robert W. Perez Sr., Robert W. Perez Jr., Edward O. Perez, III, Roberto Jimenez, Thomas Tibbs, John R. Perez Sr., and Miguel Jimenez.
