The Friendswood Independent School District Board of Trustees on Tuesday voted unanimously to approve an estimated $152,861 for interior finish work on the Friendswood High School campus.
The work includes ceramic tile in "Mall 1", restrooms and the natatorium lobby, a painted graphic in the natatorium, acoustic wall panels in the cafeteria, and decorated light fixtures, horse sculptures and lettering in the main entrance area.
The school board voted unanimously to approve the Friendswood High School 2010-2011 Academic Planning Guide.
The school board voted unanimously to approve a Statement of Impact from the YES Prep charter school regarding a request to increase its enrollment. The charter school is requesting an increase of its maximum enrollment beyond its current limit of 3,750 students and to add a new campus. The request is considered by the Texas Commissioner of Education.
"As part of the amendment process, charter schools are required to notify any districts that are likely to be affected by the change," Superintendent Trish Hanks said.
During the meeting, the school board conducted a public hearing on the annual report of the Academic Excellence Indicator System for the district.
