Tammy Sykes-SweenyTammy Sykes-Sweeny, 45, departed this life on January 15, 2010 after a brief illness.

Visitation for Tammy will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 28, 2010, at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church followed by life celebration service at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Dexter Henderson officiating, Rev Timothy Sykes eulogist.

Tammy was born December 30, 1964, in Galveston, TX . She attended school in Galveston and Texas City and was employed in the childcare fields. Tammy loved writing poetry and was featured in several poem books and publications.

Tammy leaves to cherish loving memories a son, Kenneth Ferrell, Jr.; daughter Tyera Nolan, parents, Joseph L. "Bear" Sykes, and Joyce M. Foreman-Sykes; brothers; Rev. Timmy (Kathy) Sykes, and Daniel (Janice) Williams; sisters; Thebatha and Twoonia Sykes, six aunts; one uncle; eleven nieces & nephews; several cousins, many friends, and many adopted family members.
