Yachty Gras Draws Record Crowds

Kemah, Texas… This year celebrates the 11th annual Yachty Gras. The festivities start early this year with the Yachty Gras Kickoff Party at the swanky new Madeleine’s at 707 Bradford on Friday, February 12th at 7pm. The evening’s festivities will feature Louisiana’s finest Lady D and the Zydeco Tornadoes, New Orleans style appetizers, dancing, door prizes, live and silent auction. Tickets are $25 in advance or $35 at the door. Dress is casual Mardi Gras Bling. The live and silent auction will include fine jewelry, dinners, Astro’s packages and sports memorabilia, trips to Belize, Cozumel and more! Proceeds from the event will benefit two local 501(c )3 organizations: the Jeanette Williams Foundation and the Youth Educational Support Services. The evening’s Emcee and Auctioneer will be Rick Clapp President and CEO of the Bay Area Houston Magazine.

Saturday February 13th at 7pm is “Bead the Boardwalk” Yachty Gras Grand Boat Parade. Power boats, sailboats of all sizes and yachts will attack the Kemah Boardwalk revelers with the finest beads from Baton Rouge and New Orleans. There is also an after parade party at Outriggers Restaurant in Seabrook at 9pm. This is a spectacular family event. Come enjoy dinner, the Boardwalk, the beautifully decorated boats and leave with a fist full of beads. Furthermore, on Sunday, February 14th at 10am there will be Bloody Marys and brunch reception for the award winners at Sundance Grill in Waterford Harbour. This year’s official Yachty Gras beer is Louisiana’s favorite brew Abita.

“We are expecting huge record crowds coming to Kemah and Seabrook to celebrate Yachty Gras 2010. It is a family oriented event and has lots of fun activities. Our event promotes boating, yachting and sailing as well as waterfront living. Furthermore, we help economically develop our area during a slow period with guests from Houston and surrounding areas.” stated organizer Maureen Howard.

So “Les Laissez Bon Ton Rouler” in Kemah on 6th St. and on the Boardwalk. Enjoy Yachty Gras all Valentines weekend. Book your hotel, motel and/or B&B as space is going fast. Bienvenue to Kemah where we are always cooking and playing. Call Maureen at (713) 882-4040 for tickets and more information.
