Thelma M. Branch Moore

Thelma M. Branch MooreThelma M. Branch Moore entered in to eternal rest February 2, 2010.

Thelma was born September 5,1923, to the union of James and Inez Tolbert Branch. Educated in the public schools of Galveston and after graduating from the historic Central High School in 1939, she attended Prairie View A&M College. She touched many lives during her 30 year career as manager of Cedar Terrace Housing Community and retired from Galveston Housing Authority in 1987.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Wesley Moore; both parents, brothers, James and Jesse Branch; and sister, Edna Galloway.

Survivors include her aunt, Erma Emerson (Samuel); nephew, Dr. Robert Galloway; nieces, Angela Rougeau and Jesse Odom; sister-in-law, Lula Gipson; cousins, Pauline Batiste Green, Dorothy Brown and Mr. Cassie Branch (Pat);  host of other cousins, relatives and friends.

The family extend deepest gratitude to the entire staff of Gulf Health Care facility for their compassionate care throughout Thelma's residency there, including Toni Simpson, Johan, Melinda, Elmer and Rene, and to Linda Moore of the Hospice Care team, we say God bless you for your calling.

Visitation will begin 10 AM, Monday, February 8, 2010, followed by a celebration of life service at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Fields-Johnson Family Mortuary. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
