Clear Lake Shores City Council on Tuesday voted unanimously to place a referendum on the May 8 election ballot to seek voter approval for the Clear Lake Shore Economic Development Corporation to issue $900,000 in sales tax revenue bonds for the Town Center Project.

The original item was to consider a $1.4 million in bonds, but was amended to $900,000.  A petition by residents had prevented the city from issuing debt for the Town Center Project without voter consent.  An injunction had also been filed to prevent the city's economic development corporation from issuing debt for the project instead of the city.

The city council voted unanimously to approve James Skains as a patrol officer.

The city council voted unanimously to approve an amendment to the city's Zoning Ordinance to establish regulations and boundaries of the Town Center Overlay District.

All other items were approved by unanimous vote.  Council members Bryan Hoerner and Alton Burns were absent.  Agenda
