Pearland City Council on Monday voted unanimously to approve a mutual aid agreement with the cities of Alvin and League City, as well as with Alvin Independent School District and Alvin Community College, for the creation of a joint SWAT Team.

The city council voted unanimously to approve a resolution urging Alvin Community College, Houston Community College, and San Jacinto College to enter into a cooperative agreement to provide job training for the city.

The city council voted unanimously to enter into an election services agreement with Brazoria County.

The city council voted unanimously to approve the first reading of an amendment to the city's alarm system ordinance to provide for the recovery of costs incurred by the city for responding to excessive false alarms.

The city council took no action regarding a resolution authorizing the expenditure of Hotel Occupancy Tax revenues to establish a grant program to support cultural and fine arts programs.

The city council tabled action on a resolution to approve a discount for city employees on fees for programs and memberships at the city's recreation center and natatorium.

The city council took no action regarding labor issues.  The item was discussed during an executive session.

All other items were approved by unanimous vote.  Mayor Tom Reid and Council Member Felicia Kyle were absent.  Agenda
