Donald LeeMr. Donald Lee passed from this life Wednesday morning, March 3, 2010, in Houston.

Born August 5, 1931 in Dothan, Alabama, Mr. Lee had been a resident of Santa Fe since 1967, previously of Alabama.  He had worked as a pipe fitter through the Local 211 before retiring in 1990, and had also worked at McGill’s Machine Shop in Chocolate Bayou from 1990 – 1996.  He served faithfully in the U. S. Marine Corps, was a member of Arcadia First Baptist Church and enjoyed welding and building Bar B Q pits in his spare time.

Preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Annie May Lee and sister, Glenda Fay Waddle of Dothan, Alabama, survivors include his wife, June Rogers Lee, children and their spouses, Larry and Kelly Lee, Steve and Kobie Lee, Kevin and Stephanie Lee, Gina Lee, Kris and Lauri Lee; step children, Derinda Norred and Mindy Spitzer, all of Santa Fe, Rocky and Diana Mauldin of Pearland; brother, Wayne Lee of Carrollton, GA; 11 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Saturday, March 6, 2010, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home with Dr. Rick Smith officiating. 

Honorary bearers will be Steve Dickerson, Daryl Lee, Jeff Lee, Tyler Lee, Howard Nolen and Doug Sweeney.
