LA MARQUE - Legis Marie Williams 63, received her reward of eternal rest Sunday, February 28, 2010, at Ashton Park Care Center in Texas City, Texas.

Legis was born January 6, 1947, to William L. Sr. and Mildred Williams in Galveston, Texas. She attended school in Galveston and graduated with Central High class of 1965. Legis continued her education at Galveston College, where she obtained her Associates Degree in Business Management. She was a lifelong member of Live Oak Baptist Church.

Legis was preceded in death by her father; and brother, Julio Santana. Left to cherish her smile, laughter and the many memories of her life are her sons, Edward Williams (Shanye), Earl Williams, Brandon Williams (Tasha); grandchildren, Brittany Williams, Chellel Butler, Ebone Williams, Amber Bell Williams; mother, Mildred Jacquo Williams; brothers, William Lee Williams, Jr., John Santana, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will begin 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 6, 2010, at Live Oak Baptist Church, followed by a life celebration at 12 Noon with Pastor Vernon L. Baines officiating and Rev. Edward Williams, eulogist. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
