JoAnn ChenowethMrs. JoAnn Chenoweth passed from this life Tuesday morning, March 2, 2010, at UTMB in Galveston.

Born September 24, 1935 in Galveston, TX, Mrs. Chenoweth had been a lifetime resident of Galveston County, living in Santa Fe since the 1960’s.  She had been employed with American National Insurance Company for over 30 years, retiring in 2001 as a supervisor over the Direct Pay Department.  JoAnn enjoyed playing Bingo, gambling and loved cooking for family and friends.  She always made sure everyone had something to eat and was known to many as the “Hostess with the Mostess”.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Cyrus, Calvin, Jimmy, Pascal and sister, Whirley.

Survivors include her loving husband of over 54 years, Albert Chenoweth of Santa Fe; daughters, Lynda Roach and husband, Jeff of Kyle; Derryll Davis and husband, Kenny; Karen Corrigan and husband, Tim, all of Santa Fe; lifelong friend, Alice Mae Bradshaw; best Bingo buddy, Judy Rosenberg; 8 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 6, 2010, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home with Mr. Wayne Chenoweth officiating.  Interment will follow at Hayes Grace Memorial Park Cemetery.

Casketbearers will be Josh Bergeron, Jason Chenoweth, Timothy Corrigan, Kenny Davis, Trey Davis and Jimmy Fawcette.  Honorary bearers will be Tim Corrigan and Jeff Roach.

Friends may call from 5 - 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, 10412 Highway 6, (409) 925-3501.
