WHO:         The Houston-Galveston Area Council invites area citizens, business leaders, community stakeholders and local officials to attend a second round of public meetings, and to provide their feedback regarding the SH 6 South Access Management Study alternative solutions to be presented by the study team.

WHAT:        H-GAC is hosting two public meetings to inform the public about the outcomes of the analyses done on the SH 6/FM1960 South Corridor access management needs and the set of alternative solutions designed by the study team to address those identified needs. The Access Management Study encompasses the communities of Arcola, Manvel, Santa Fe, Hitchcock, and Bayou Vista.

The public is encouraged to attend the meeting and provide an evaluation of the alternative solutions presented by the study team. The public input from this meeting will be used in the selection of recommended solutions to the access management needs of the SH 6/FM 1960 South Corridor. The meeting will be an open house format with a short presentation. After the presentation, the public will be invited to provide comments on recommended improvements to the southern section of SH 6 from FM 521 to IH 45 South.

WHY:          An access management study is being conducted to identify the best possible transportation improvements that will meet the needs of the community for improved traffic flow, improved safety and reduced motorist delay while maintaining the economic vitality of the commercial areas and the quality of life of the residential areas along the corridor.
