Mrs. Sarah Herrera passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones on Friday, March 19, 2010. 

Mrs. Herrera was born Sarah Rivera on February 20, 1918 in Skidmore, Texas to Ramon and Micaela Rivera.  Sarah loved music, dancing and playing Bingo.  She had a loving heart and a beautiful smile that we will never forget.  She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Eutimio L. Herrera, 3 sisters and 2 brothers.

Survivors include her 4 children, son, Ray Herrera and wife, Vicky; daughters, Yolanda DelBosque and husband, Albert, Ofilia Ramos and husband, Manuel, Hilda Duron and husband, John; 19 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren; sisters, Vicky Aleman and Victoria Carillo.

Visitation and viewing will be from 5 - 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock, TX (409) 925-3501, with a vigil service beginning at 7:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Hitchcock with Reverend John Kappe, Celebrant.  Interment will follow at Hayes Grace Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.

Casketbearers will be Michael DelBosque, Humberto Garcia, Armando Garza, Ray Herrera, Jose Lozano and Kenneth Soriano.  Honorary bearers will be Mike DelBosque, Gerald Hernandez and Nicholas Hummel.  www.hayesfuneralhome.com
