Mrs. Mary Jo Walker passed from this life Wednesday morning, March 31, 2010, in Texas City.
Born December 29, 1928 in Zavalla, TX, Mrs. Walker had been a lifetime resident of Santa Fe. She had been a dedicated homemaker, a member of First Love Church in Texas City and enjoyed singing, listening to Gospel music and being with the loves of her life, her grandkids.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of over 44 years, Cecil Walker and her parents, L. J. and Ruth “Ma” Dearmond.
Survivors include her son, Charles Walker and wife, Denise of Texas City; grandchildren, Jason Walker, Rosanna Ramsey; great-grandchildren, Parker Ramsey and two on the way; brother, W. C. Dearmond of Santa Fe; sister, Tommie Ruth Crager and husband, Walter “Trigger” of Alvin.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 3, 2010, at First Love Church in Texas City with Pastor Mike Wedgeworth officiating.
Casketbearers will be Mike Cagle, Kenny Dearmond, Sam James, Myrick Johnson, Jason Walker and Mike Wetzel. Honorary bearer will be Parker Ramsey.
Visitation will be from 5 - 8 p.m. Friday at Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, (409) 925-3501.
