Joseph “JC” Williams, 81, passed away April 2, 2010, in Galveston, Texas, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 18, 1928, to Pearl Ware and Adolph Williams in Washington, Louisiana.
A veteran of the United States Army, J C was a merchant marine before becoming a member of International Longshoreman’s Association #851. After his retirement, he worked as a driver for Sand Dollar Autoplex. Throughout his life, J C generously shared his wit and wisdom with family, friends, and young people wherever he went.
He was survived by his loving wife, Velma J. Williams; daughter Wanda K. Tucker and husband Larry; sons Joseph C. Williams, Jr. and Kevin G. Williams; special daughter, Felesha M. Anderson and husband Darrell; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
The family will receive visitors from 6 PM – 8 PM on Wednesday, April 7, 2010, at Fields-Johnson Family Mortuary in Galveston, Texas. A funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, April 8, 2010, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Galveston with interment following at Galveston Memorial Cemetery in Hitchcock, Texas.
