Pasadena City Council on Tuesday voted unanimously to approve the first reading of an ordinance for the purchase and installation of three splash pads for Peter Fogo Park, Odell Park and Memorial Park for a total of $633,672.
The pads will be purchased from Vortex Aquatic Structures International, and installation will be performed by Fun Abounds, Inc.
Council Member Orlando Ybarra said the benefits of having a splash pad include lower costs to the city, saving taxpayer dollars and that the splash pads can be enjoyed by children ages one through ten as well as disabled children.
The city council voted unanimously to approve the first reading of a $40,000 contract with HDR/Claunch & Miller Engineering Consultants to provide engineering services in preparation for the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality's Sanitary Sewer Overflow Initiative Action Plan.
The city council voted unanimously to approve the final reading of a $59,939 contract with URS Corporation to develop a Continuity of Operations Plan using funds from the Regional Catastrophic Preparedness Grant.
The city council voted unanimously to approve the final reading of a renewal of the annual maintenance agreement with Environmental Systems Research Institute, Inc. for the ArcGIS software used for CityWorks. The contract amount was $20,500
The city council deferred action on opening requests for qualifications for engineering design and material testing services for non-housing infrastructure projects.
The city council voted unanimously to refer bids for the replacement of roofing at Fire Station No. 2 to the appropriate departments for study.
The city received three bids on the project.
All other items were approved by unanimous vote. All members were present.
