PORT ANNOUNCES WINNERS OF 10th ANNUAL TACFT LOGO DRAWING CONTEST

FREEPORT, Texas - Port Freeport is proud to host its 10th Annual Take-A-Child Fishing Tournament (TACFT) on May 8th at Freeport Municipal Park.  In conjunction with the tournament, the Port holds an annual logo drawing contest in which one lucky winner is chosen and his/her logo is used on all fliers, posters, advertisements and t-shirts for the tournament. 

The Port staff would like to congratulate Makenzie Scott, the first place winner of the TACFT Logo Drawing Contest.  Makenzie, a fifth grade student at Rasco Middle School, won a framed print of her drawing and a $100 Visa Gift Card.  Jarid Kidd, a sixth grade student also from Rasco Middle School, won second place and was awarded a $50 Visa Gift Card and a framed print of his drawing.  The third place winner, Jo Madenjian, an eighth grade student at Our Lady Queen of Peace, also received a framed print of her drawing, and won a $25 Visa Gift Card.

“We received entries from 138 students from 26 schools in Brazoria County,” Port Freeport Managing Director Phyllis Saathoff said.  “We are very honored to have the broad support of our schools and continue to be amazed at the talent and creativity of the young people in our community.”
