John Edward Massey

 John Edward Massey, 84, passed from this life on April 8, 2010 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
John was born on June 18, 1925, in Van Wyck, SC, to the late Mack and Nora Massey. He attended Alabama Clark High School and graduated with the class of 1946. John went on to join the U.S. Navy, he retired from ILA local 1504. John was joined in Holy matrimony with Shirley Watson in 1960. He dedicated the rest of his life to his beloved family and friends.
John was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, four sisters, and two great granddaughters. John leaves to mourn his passing, his beloved and devoted wife of 48 years, Shirley Massey; daughters, Natalie Hennigan (Aubrey), Tammy Anderson (Tim), Samantha Massey-Petty, Rhonda Hambric (Derrick); son, John Edward Massey, Jr. (Sharalyn); sisters, Mary Hurling, Hazel Walker, Arlene Carmichael, Carolyn Williams, Arvetta Farmer, Helen Boyd, all of New Jersey; sisters in law, Louise Massey, Hattie Watson, Billie Watson, Patricia Howard (Ken), Brenda Kindle of California; brother in law, Marshall Watson (Sheryl); thirteen grandchildren, four great grand children; devoted cousins, Qaynelle Morgan, Lynette Durant, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will begin 12 Noon on Saturday, April 17, 2010, followed by a life celebration at 2:00 p.m. at Fields-Johnson Family Mortuary with Rev. Tyrone Mayo officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
