John Scott LongcoyMr. John Scott Longcoy passed from this life Sunday morning, April 25, 2010, in Texas City.

Born July 1, 1929 in Little Rock, AR, Mr. Longcoy had been a resident of Santa Fe for 46 years. He had been employed with HL&P as an electrical engineer for 37 years and enjoyed volunteering with the YMCA, Little League Baseball and love sports and swimming.

Preceded in death by his parents, John Charles and Eleanor (Bilheimer) Longcoy, he is survived by his wife of 60 years, Myrtle Joyce Longcoy of Santa Fe; sons, Lawrence W. Longcoy and wife, Laura of Lee Summit, MO, Charles Longcoy and John Longcoy, both of Santa Fe; daughters, Tina Longcoy and husband Toby Jackson of Santa Fe, Debra Foster of Corpus Christi; 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 1, 2010, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home with Mr. Alvin Lovelady officiating.  A private cremation was conducted under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.  www.hayesfuneralhome.com
