Lynn Karyle McNeely of Galveston, passed away Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at her residence. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, May 15, 2010 at Grace Episcopal Church with Pastor Paul Wehner officiating and a reception to follow.
Lynn was born December 7th in Norfolk Virginia and moved to Galveston in 1989. She was a partner in McNeely & Peugh, P.C. a certified public accounting firm that she founded.
During college she was a nationally recognized swimmer holding records for the butterfly stroke. After graduating from the University of Minnesota, Lynn was a Peace Corp volunteer for three years in Sierra Leon, Africa. Lynn was a partner in the largest public accounting firm and one of the first women partners in Houston.
Lynn was a member of the Women’s Association at the Galveston Country Club, a founding member of the Sandpipers Republic Women’s Club and the Galveston Pachyderm Club. She was a member of Grace Episcopal Church. Lynn loved life to the fullest.
She is preceded in death by Evelynne Peugh and Charles Peugh and Earl Lindgren.
Lynn is survived by her husband Michael McNeely: brother David Peugh of St. Louis; niece and nephew Joan Peugh and Bryan Peugh; and numerous aunts and uncles.
