The Hitchcock Independent School District Board of Trustees on Tuesday voted to canvass the results of the May 8 School Board Election, declaring the re-election of incumbents Estelle Holmes and Shirley Price.

Holmes, who defeated Rochelle Randle for re-election to Position 1, and Price, who defeated Hayley Winklemann for Position 2, were sworn in for a new term on the board.

The school board elected Dianne James as president of the board, Monica Cantrell as vice president and Estelle Holmes as secretary.

The school board voted unanimously to approve a guaranteed maximum price of $195,125 for the construction of additional parking at the primary school campus.

The school board voted 5-2, with James and Monica Cantrell opposed, to approve a one-year extension with IQS for janitorial services.

The school board voted unanimously to name Donette Line as the principal of Stewart Elementary School. The item was discussed during an executive session.

The school board voted unanimously to schedule a workshop for June 8 to develop the superintendent's evaluation form.

The school board voted to approve a $100 registration fee and $250 per month tuition fee for over-income eligible students enrolling in pre-kindergarten.

The school board voted unanimously to approve new positions at the district, with the exception of a proposed nurse's aide position.

All other items were approved by unanimous vote. All members were present.  Agenda
