As always, downtown has plenty to keep your Fourth of July holiday exciting and at the top of the list is
Freedom Over Texas with Fireworks Presented by Shell
.
The city’s annual festivities along
Buffalo Bayou
kick off at 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 4 with live music and plenty of outdoor activities and will conclude with a concert by Texas singer-songwriter Pat Green and a fireworks extravaganza certain to wow everyone who sees it.
Throughout the day, festival goers can enjoy four stages with a variety of live music; championship volleyball tournaments in the
Bud Light Zone
; the relaxed atmosphere of the
Budweiser Beer Garden
; military displays in
KBR Liberty Park
and the
Walmart All American Kids Zone
with its rides, games, face painting and more.
Admission is free with the donation of one canned item per person to the Houston Food Bank or $8 per person. Children 2 and under are free.
