Calvin Muse, 50, departed this life on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at his residence. Calvin was the sixth child born to Ezekiel, Jr. and Willia Muse on April 16, 1960, in Galveston. He attended schools in Galveston and California, where he had lived for 2 years. Upon his return to Galveston, he worked in transportation at UTMB Hospital. At the age of 21 he was met with a misfortunate accident which left him paralyzed from the waist down. Calvin continued to live his life the way he wanted to, capable and able to do everything.
Calvin was preceded in death by his parents; maternal and paternal grandparents; and his brother, Rodel.
He leaves to cherish the memories of his life, sisters, Mattie Muse, Avis Muse (Edward); brothers, Otis Muse (Thomasene), Ezekiel III (Sandra); nephews, Keelan (Karsha), Eli Antoine (Dee), Anthony Antoine, Sr., Sylvester Joe; nieces, LaTissa Muse, NaTarria Muse, Rhonda Warner (James), Annese Joe; 3 great nieces, 3 great great nieces, 3 great nephews; cousins, Beatrice Joe, Florence Hatcher; extended families, the Chaney's, Morgan's, Franklins, Freemans, Temples, and a host of friends and other relatives.
Visitation will be held from 9AM to 10:45 AM on Saturday, May 29, 2010, at Fields-Johnson Family Mortuary(3828 Ave. O), followed by a service to celebrate his life at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor N.D. Burkely officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Galveston.
