Anna Mae GlassMrs. Anna Mae Glass passed from this life Wednesday afternoon, June 2, 2010, in Webster.

Born January 13, 1929 in Coryell County, TX, Mrs. Glass had been a resident of Hitchcock for 10 years, previously of Galveston for 35 years and Texas City for 18 years.  She had retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company as a secretary to the district plant manager after 31 years of service, was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and Brigands Life Member Club of the Telephone Pioneers of America.  Mrs. Glass was an avid gardener and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 25 years, Richard P. Glass, Sr. and her parents, Roy John and Audry May (Watkins) Fry.

Survivors include her stepchildren, Judith Ann Jordan and husband, Paul of Hitchcock, Richard P. Glass, Jr. of Texas City; grandchildren, Brandie Luikart and husband, Thad, Jeff Jordan, Richard P. Glass, III and wife, Amanda, Ryan F. Glass; great-grandchildren, Madison Luikart, Gage Glass, Parker Glass; brother, Roy C. Fry and wife, Mavis of Hurst, TX.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 8, 2010, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Hitchcock, Reverend John Kappe, Celebrant.  Interment will follow at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.

Casketbearers will be Kenneth Fry, Richard Glass, III, Ryan Glass, Dan Johnston, Jeff Jordan and Thad Luikart.

Friends may call from 5 - 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, 10412 Highway 6, (409) 925-3501, with a Vigil service beginning at 7:00 p.m. with Mr. Alvin Lovelady officiating.
