Brazoria County Commissioners Court on Tuesday voted unanimously to award a $68,486 proposal to LJA Engineering and Surveying, Inc. for the design of the West Fork Chocolate Bayou Detention Pond.
The pond is required for widening and improvement of County Road 48 from Highway 6 to north of County Road 58.
The commissioners court voted unanimously to approve an interlocal agreement with the City of Manvel to provide equipment and operators for asphalt paving of a parking lot for the new Manvel City Hall. The county will be reimbursed for any costs exceeding $10,000 in paving the new parking lot. The new city hall is located at 20025 Highway 6.
The commissioners court voted unanimously to authorize the Environmental Health Department Director to terminate provisions of an interlocal agreement with Brookside Village for regulation of private sewage facilities.
Brookside Village in May adopted the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality's model On-Site Sewage Facility Ordinance.
The commissioners court voted unanimously to delegate the county's authority to provide dune protection to the City of Freeport for an area of dunes recently annexed by Freeport. The authority was delegated on the condition that the city's dune protection plan be approved by the Texas General Land Office.
The commissioners court voted unanimously to issue a proclamation recognizing June 14 as National Flag Day.
