Mildred J. Thiberville

Mildred J. ThibervilleMildred J. Thiberville, 77, of Galveston, passed away Wednesday, June 16, 2010, at UTMB Hospital.

She was born September 10, 1932, in San Angelo, TX, to Wallace and Margie McCarver.  She grew up in Iraan, TX and graduated from Baylor University.  Mildred taught school at Sterling High School for several years and played the organ for St. Christopher’s Church on Saturday nights.  After moving to Galveston, Mildred was an active volunteer in her community.  She made care packages for soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan; contributed to Our Daily Bread; and organized the Giving Tree each Christmas at Sacred Heart Church, where she was a longtime member.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents.  She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Arthur Thiberville; sons: Mike Thiberville and wife, Sharon; Andy Thiberville and wife, Cathy; Rusty Thiberville and wife, Jennifer; and Philip Thiberville; grandchildren: Justin Thiberville and wife, Sunnie; Nikki Thiberville; Kristi Belluomini and husband, Brian; Stephanie Irish and husband, Robert; and Henri Thiberville; great grandchildren: Teagan Thiberville and Scott Belluomini; uncle, W. S. Jobe; and cousin, David Jobe and wife, Rosemary; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

Mildred’s family will receive visitors after 5:00 pm, Thursday, June 17th, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home.  A rosary will be held at 6:00 pm.

Funeral Mass will be 10:00 am, Friday, June 18th, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial following the service at Galveston Memorial Park in Hitchcock.
