Jimmie L. Little

Jimmie L. LittleJimmie L. Little found eternal peace  Friday, June 11, 2010 at Kaiser Permente Hospital in Sacramento, California. 

Jimmie was born in Plain Dealing, LA.  to the union of Alice Bankhead Little and Alton James Little, Sr.  Jimmie was a graduate of Plain Dealing High School, and continued his education at Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA.  After moving to Galveston, he was employed at U.T.M.B. Hospital for thirty years as Director of Transportation and Supervisor in the Material Management Department.  Jimmie moved to Los Angeles, CA.  in 1993 and was united in marriage to Carolyn Whitaker.  They relocated to Sacramento, CA.  where he was employed by AT&T as Supervisor of the Product Development Dept.,  and remained there until his health failed.  He was a faithful member of Faith Fellowship Baptist Church.   Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Webster B. Little and Alton Little, Jr.; sisters Mary Jenkins Henry and Elnora Davis.  Jimmie will be lovingly missed by his devoted wife, Carolyn; daughters, Nicole Ward  (Chris), Cassandra Little;  sons, Cedric G. Broddie,  Jerrold Whitaker; eight grandchildren; sisters, Mercie Little Harris, Violine Lorraine Little; aunt, Maebelle Hampson ; twelve nieces and nephews; twenty-two great nieces and nephews; six great great nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Herbert Whitaker; sisters-in-law, Yvonne Colbert, Patricia Cox.

 Jimmie was a devoted, loving, and caring husband, father, brother, and family man.  He will be remembered for his iron will, and determination which he met and overcame every challenge with his illness.  Most of all, his love for his family and friends. 

We pause to celebrate his life today, June 19, 2010, at 12:00 p.m. and welcome you to join us at Mt. Olive Baptist Church,  3602 Sealy, Galveston, TX.  Viewing will be from 11:00 am until time of service. Entombment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery Mausoleum.
