Ollie B. Harrison

Ollie B. HarrisonMrs. Ollie B. Harrison peacefully slept away and received her reward of eternal rest, at the blessed age of 103, on June 11, 2010, at Ashton  Parke Care Center.

Ollie B. was born February 27, 1907, in Bay City, Texas to the union of Nathaniel  and Rachel Jiles Scott. A longtime resident of Galveston, she was a retired housekeeper in the hotel industry. A member of the Live Oak Baptist Church for over 67 years, she was a member of the choir and president of the Bible Band until her health began to fail. She lived life to the fullest and enjoyed caring for her grand and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eugene M. Harrison; daughter, Jean F. Harrison; grandson, Larry T. Harrison; granddaughter, Karen E. Harrison; seven sisters and five brothers.

Left with precious memories of her life are her sons, Leroy Harrison (Bernice), Theodore Harrison, Odis Harrison and Lee C Harrison; daughters, Dorothy M. Jones and Jo Ruth Hughley (Oliver W.); fourteen grandchildren, thirty-nine great grandchildren, seven great great grandchildren; devoted nieces, Dr. Vera C. King and Betty Jean Matthews; cousin, Carol Lynne Osborne; a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 22nd from 4-7PM at Fields-Johnson Family Mortuary and also on Wednesday, June 23, 2010, from 9-10:45 AM, at Live Oak Baptist Church, with a service celebrating of her wonderful life beginning at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Vernon L. Baines officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
