John H. Richard, Sr., 72 of Taylor Landing, died Monday, June 21, 2010 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday evening, June 24, 2010 at 7:00 P.M. at Broussard’s in Nederland with Msgr. Dan Malain officiating. A gathering of family and friends will begin at 4:00 P.M. at the mortuary.

Born in Church Point, Louisiana, Mr. Richard, Sr. has lived in this area for the past sixty years. He was the owner and operator of Richard’s Cooling Systems in Port Arthur.

Mr. Richard, Sr. enjoyed camping, golfing, hunting, boating, Harley motor cycles and loved people. He enjoyed Cajun dancing, was a member of the C.F.M.A and was a thirty six year member of the Sertoma Club.

Preceding Mr. Richard, Sr. in death were his parents, Willie and Genevieve Richard; brother, Robert Morvant and grandson Joshua Barnette. He is survived by his wife, Betty Richard of Taylor Landing; daughter, Tammy Becker and her husband Tommy of Port Neches; son, John Richard, Jr. of Corpus Christi; grandchildren, Marla and Seanna Richard and Brandon Barnette; sister, Jackie Ackerman and her husband Robert of Port Arthur; brother, Lee Richard and his wife Elda of Beaumont and numerous nieces and nephews.
