Anna Jane KnowlesAnna Jane Knowles, 71 of Port Arthur, passed away July 5, 2010 at her residence.

A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, July 8, 2010 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Nederland, with Msgr. Dan Malain officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.

A gathering of family and friends will be Wednesday evening from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at Broussard’s in Nederland, with a Rosary recited at 7:00 P.M.


Mrs. Knowles was born in Abbeville, Louisiana and has lived in Port Arthur since 1952. She was a homemaker, loving taking care of her husband and sons. She enjoyed flowers, embroidering baby quilts and cooking for family, neighbors and friends.


Mrs. Knowles was preceded in death by her son, James Knowles.


She is survived by her husband, Thomas Knowles of Port Arthur; sons, John Knowles (Renate Straney) of Spring; Ron Knowles of Nederland; Don Knowles (Kristy Miller) of Houston; grandchildren, Hillary and Forrest Knowles and brother, David Monteaux.
